2014 In Pictures by Travis Sharpe

Everyone loves pictures, I know I do. So with that thought in mind, I want to share a few of our most memorable pictures from this year with you.

Divina at house

1. This picture was taken on Bantayan Island in the Philippines. The lady with us is Divina. It was such a joy to meet her and her precious family. This little hut is all they had left after a destructive typhoon hit their tiny little Island. She and her family are faithful servants in their church and that never stopped through their loss.

2. A few weeks later, with the help of our supporters and the local pastors, a new home was built for Divina and her family! On the left is Pastor Joshua and on the right is Pastor Antonio.

April with kids

3. This is one of my favorite pictures of my wife April from this year. This was taken in the Philippines and it’s obvious who is having the most fun!

Rex and man

4. In June we held our second resource clinic in Bristol, VA. This is Pastor Rex Carter (right) and a gentleman that he led to the Lord during our resource clinic that we held at Pastor Carter’s church. Two men were saved that day!

5. This was what I did every chance I got!

6. This summer we were part of a wonderful week of ministry at Pine Ridge Baptist Church on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Brother Ken Trivette and his wife Sherry are doing a great work for the Lord there on what they call the Rez! Left to right are Billy Sampson, myself, Kenny Marr and Ken Trivette.

tara and adrienne

7. In September we held a fish-fry fund raiser at New Haven Baptist Church in Athens, GA. Special thanks to the church family and Pastor Bryan Townsend for hosting this event. In the picture is Tara Philyaw (left) and Adrienne Barbee (right). These two ladies handle most of the behind-the-scenes things for me and we couldn’t be successful without their hard work.

Jamed at Canaan

8. This next one is my friend James Dennis. This picture was taken in October at Canaan Baptist Church in Augusta, GA where I was teaching the Good Samaritan Class. James gave his testimony about how he got saved when he came to Garden City Rescue Mission over 10 years ago. He became the Mission cook!

me, dad, harry

9. It was awesome to preach revival in October at my dad’s church in Upton, KY. It was really special to me to have both my dad and my older brother Harry in the service with me there.

Sarah rappelling

10. During that revival the pastor and some of the men from the church took us rappelling and zip-lining. Sarah and Hunter really had a blast. I had fun watching!

me and Papa

11. We spent Thanksgiving with my mother and my Papa Ergie in FL. He and I must have had a little too much turkey when this picture was taken!

12. Our 2014 family picture was taken at the Hornback Farm in Upton, KY. Our dog’s name is Shocker.

13. I can’t tell you how much joy it brought us to know that we helped to provide these Christmas blessings to over 150 children in the Philippines this year. They were given on Christmas Eve!

Thank you

We really appreciate you being a part of our year. You have truly blessed us and we are excited to see where the Lord will take us next year!
