A Little Girl With A Big Heart by Travis Sharpe

We had a great week of revival with Pastor Zach Morrison and the people of Victory Baptist Church in Nokesville, VA. Nokesville is in northern VA, not too far from our nations capitol. The folks at Victory were very gracious hosts throughout the week. We began on Sunday morning and ended up on Wednesday evening. Pictured below is myself with Pastor Zach just before we left on Thursday morning.

There is a special little girl named Chelsea who attends Victory along with her family. She heard me talking about the meal centers that we operate in the Philippines and how people can give money to help sponsor them. That gave her an idea. She rounded up as much money as she could find on her own and brought it to the church.

When Pastor Zach was told about her little offering, he encouraged the church family to give a change offering to go along with it. She was happy to present the total amount of just over $117 to me Wednesday evening after the service. I was reminded of how Jesus instructed the adults to “suffer the little children to come unto me.” I’m sure the Lord isn’t finished multiplying her gift yet.

Resource Clinic in PA

We arrived in PA Thursday afternoon after picking up Tara (my assistant and our financial secretary) at the Baltimore airport. We are getting ready for our very first resource clinic of the year this Saturday in Coatesville, PA. We will be partnering with Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church, Porters Grove Baptist Church and GPA Mobilization Ministries to conduct the big. It will be held at City Gate Mission in Coatesville, PA.

Be looking for an update next week with a full report from the day! Also, if you would like to donate to help with this event, you can do that here.

We have several people who are coming in from out of town to help make the resource clinic a real success. I am thankful for each of them and their sacrifice. I’ll introduce you to them in next week’s update as well.

Our entire family is looking forward to once again being on the mission field in the Philippines and joining our staff and ministry partners in the daily work of the ministry.

Prayer requests

Please pray for my dad, Harvey Sharpe. He has been diagnosed with cancer in his throat and is right in the middle of a series of treatments. Things are looking real good for him and I would appreciate your prayers that he continues to do well.

Please pray for April’s health as she continues to see doctors. Her initial diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis has now been ruled out. The doctors are saying she has fibromyalgia and possibly, asthma. She has seen one doctor about the asthma and has another appointment for further testing soon.

Thank you for your prayers and support.
