“A man named David”

I’m so excited to share this update of a gentleman we were able to minister to this past weekend!

After getting pretty beat up in a drunken fight with his roommate, a night in the hospital, and nowhere else to go. Our hotline received a call Sunday morning from the ER nurse asking for help for a man named David.

When our Homeless Relations Director Tim Barbee met David, he was in so much pain, he could barley move. David had 4 fractured ribs and a fractured skull and was now homeless.

Tim was able to minister to David for quite sometime that afternoon, but David was not saved, and his addiction to Alcohol had nearly killed him that night.

With much council, and  help from the New start program of Cullman, we were able to get David a hotel room for the night until a living situation was arranged.

David thought he could go to his nieces house, but when that fell through, we decided the best place for him was a shelter in Decatur. Our volunteer Paul Brodeur picked him up early that afternoon before check out and headed for the 30 min journey to the shelter.

While on the road Paul began to witness to him, and as he did David recalled his conversation with Tim the night before.  That afternoon,  somewhere down the road on I-65 Northbound, David found Jesus, and asked him to enter his heart.

David stayed one night in the shelter and was surprised when his niece offered to pay for a hotel room for a week. The first night in the hotel, David met his neighbor who just happened to be a General Contractor. He hired David that Day.

Today we received a call from David informing us that he has been studying his bible and is working on staying clean! He thanked us for the help and prayers.

God is so good! We ask that you keep David in your prayers as he starts his journey as a new christian!
