Great day in Coatesville, PA by Travis Sharpe

We the day is over and we are all pretty much wore out! The last two days have been super busy and great for the Unsheltered team.

We started super early this morning loading last minute things and we arrived at the City Gate Mission by about 8 am. We hit the ground running because there are tons of things to get set up and ready for a resource clinic.

Thankfully we had about 60 great volunteers who worked non stop throughout the day. There was always someone there asking what was needed. This makes a lot of work much easier and we are so grateful for all the help.

We started the day with a great worship service. Our two singing groups, Glory Bound and Surrender, did a fantastic job with the music. Michael Moore brought the message and also did a great job. We prayed with several of the guests and it was our joy to minister to them spiritually.

After the service we served a great meal. It was “pit beef” sandwiches that were cooked right there on site in a large smoker. All I can say about that is that they knocked it out of the park!!!

After the meal, we opened the resource stations and people began to filter in and get some much needed help.

Here is a list of what we provided today:

231 guests came to the event

60 birth certificates were applied for

6 resumes were written

50 haircuts were given

6 letters were written to relatives

30 emergency contact cards were issued

91 pairs of glasses were given out

87 Bibles were given out

65 people were seen at the health screening and first aid station

We especially want to thank the staff of City Gate Mission, Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church, Porters Grove Baptist Church and GPA Mobilization Ministries. Pastor Gary Moore and Pastor Michael Moore put tons of work into this event and we are very grateful for them bringing the Unsheltered team here and hosting the resource clinic.
