Ministry Update 10-23-15

Hey everybody,

I hope you have had a great week. I arrived back here in the US around 5:30 Wednesday morning after four flights and a little over 30 hours of travel. Myself and my travel companion, Todd, must have looked like a couple of zombies. I always have a hard time getting any good sleep on the plane!

Of course, it was great to see my family, that’s the best part about coming home from a long trip like that. We spent a lot of time talking about everything that happened and I had a lot of hugs to pass along from all their Filipino friends.

Short update

I’ll be honest with you and tell you that I still feel a little bit of jet-lag. And with that thought in mind, I’m going to keep this week’s update short and sweet!

But I can however say that it IS sweet! Do you remember that last week I challenged our donors to help us reach the $10,000.00 mark on our Fall Fundraising Campaign? Well, I am thrilled to report to you that not only did we meet that goal, it was actually exceeded!

Here is our new Campaign total as of today:

I am extremely grateful for each and every one of you who have already given and helped us reach this mile marker. Now, we only have $28,700.50 more to raise before we hit our full campaign goal of $40,000.00. I believe God will provide this through his people as we pray and give.

Answered prayer

I have to share this with you before I go. Last week I asked God for two things concerning the Campaign. I asked him to put us over the $10,000 mark and I asked him to do it through an unlikely source. He answered both of those requests just the way I asked!

I am praising the Lord today for his goodness and for answered prayer. Thank you for being a part of the Lord’s work through Unsheltered International, your involvement (especially praying for us) is really making an impact.

Heads up

While I was in the Philippines I recorded a few short videos. We shot these videos at the dump site and a couple of  our other meal centers. Be on the look out for them over the next couple of weeks. I’ll be sharing them on our Facebook page. (I’ll also include a link here in the emails you receive.)

One of the videos features a little boy named John Mark (Pictured below). The video shows how our staff is using simple first aid to love the children and show them that someone cares about them.

When I post those videos, we need to rally together and share them with as many people as we can. This will help us spread the word about the awesome things that God is doing in and through us.

Thanks so much for all your prayers and help. I’m going to get a tad bit more rest today and hopefully I’ll be full steam ahead by Saturday when Alabama plays again!

God bless,
