Ministry Update 11/13/15

This has been a great week and I am excited to tell you all about it! First off, we are traveling over the next three weeks and we will be speaking in churches in SC, VA, GA and FL. We began our travels this week when we  picked up Pastor Antonio Ner and his wife Liza on Tuesday morning at the airport in Atlanta. They are our partners in our Philippines ministry. We enjoyed three days with them in the Augusta area before they headed out of town for some scheduled meetings.

We met with Howard Dye (one of our board members) and enjoyed a good meal at Cracker Barrel on Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday evening we were blessed to be in the mid-week church service at BelAir Baptist Church with Pastor David Brooks. I want to thank Pastor Brooks and the church family for their generosity to us!

On Thursday, we spent some time at Garden City Rescue Mission in Augusta, GA. This is the mission that I started in 2001. My friend Patrick Fiestel is the brand new Executive Director. Patrick has volunteered at the Mission off and on for the past 13 years. He spent one entire year working with me while I was the Director. I am very excited that he is the new Director and I know the Lord will do great things through him.

On Thursday evening, we enjoyed the mid-week church service at Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta, SC with Pastor Larry Brown. At the close of the service, Pastor Brown urged the church to be “doers of the Word” and he pledged a $1000 gift to help us purchase the land for our future orphanage. Spontaneously, people began to bring money to the altar. In just a few minutes, they had given $2000.00!

We are grateful for the faith and giving of the congregation. It was a very encouraging evening to say the least!

Fall Fundraising Campaign Update

The Lord is continuing to bless and add to our current Fall Fundraising Campaign. We are now in week 6 of the campaign and I am excited to share that our new total amount given is:

$14,094.50

We are getting real close to the halfway mark now! I believe that we can see half way ($20,000) by this time next week. Please join me in prayer and ask our Heavenly Father to supply as we are marching toward our goal of $40,000 before December 31. I want to thank each one of you who has already given. You have been a tremendous blessing!

Coming up

Please pray this week as I travel to Bristol, VA to speak in two churches and also spend some time with Missionary Denny Mitchell. Brother Denny has recently begun his deputation and he will be starting a new mission is the Abingdon, VA area. We will be visiting homeless camps and learning more about how to interact with people on the streets. Brother Denny and his family have a huge heart for winning souls and I know they will do a great job.

Prayer request

A couple of weeks ago I shared about a young man named Ronel. I met him a couple weeks ago as he lay in pain on a dirty sidewalk. Our staff in the Philippines have been helping him, but just a couple days ago they were told he is too week for the surgery he needs. He was sent home and sadly, he is very near death’s door. Our Pastors have led him to the Lord and he is certain of his salvation. Please pray that he would be comforted in what may very well be his last days.

In the above picture, Ronel’s mother holds him as Pastor Ricky visits to pray and share Christ.

Situations such as Ronel’s are very sad and to be honest, they are hard to understand. Our comfort in these times is solely in the fact that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for those who have believed in him: a much, much better place. Please pray for Ronel and his family during this difficult time.

Thank you so much for reading and praying.
