Special report from Bristol, VA

Wow, what a weekend! I hope yours was as good as ours. On Saturday we held our second Resource Clinic for the homeless in Bristol, VA and it was a great success.

I was a real challenge for our team to get here though. We had break downs, interrupted plans, rental cars, and lots of other obstacles as well. But, when it was all said and done, we accomplished our goal. God is good!

We had over 55 volunteers from 4 different churches who worked hard all day long. Everyone had smiles on their faces as they served people in great need. One of our guests was in a wheelchair and missing much of his right leg and he had one of the biggest smiles.

Here are some of the results:

81 guests came to the event

Everyone ate a great meal of hamburgers and hot dogs

48 guests received clothing

19 guests were outfitted with reading glasses

26 guests were seen in the medical screening tent

27 guests got haircuts (we had 7 barbers and hairstylists!)

1 resume was made

4 birth certificates were applied for

1 letter was written to a family member

And best of all, 2 men received Christ as their Savior! Here they are:

Witnessing someone getting saved sure does make all of the difficulties worth it! This week we will be doing some follow up so please pray that that goes really well.

We had several out of town volunteers who came on Saturday and helped out. Diane Boyd is a nurse who came all the way from PA to work in the medical screening tent. What a blessing she was to us.

Special thanks also go to the four churches that sponsored this resource clinic. Without their hard work and support this would not have been possible.

Beulah Land Baptist Church of Bristol, VA Pastor Tim Crusenberry

Community Baptist Church of Bristol, VA pastor Todd Crusenberry

Central Baptist Church of Bristol, VA Pastor Rex Carter

Calvary Bible Church of Bristol, VA Pastor Eddie Crusenberry

Next up for us is our trip to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. We will leave on the 20th of this month so please be praying for that very special event.

Thank YOU very much for supporting our efforts and following along with us as we serve our Lord and people who desperately need our help. We appreciate you.

I am so happy you have this ministry. I have mostly been poor, but never homeless so I can’t even imagine what that is like. I am on your emailing and you snailmailing list, so you can save a few cents by taking me off of the postal list as this works just fine. Thank you for all you do, God bless the work of your hands and the work of the Holy Spirit in you all. I understand your wanting to keep this focus of helping the people most needy and trust that the Lord will continue to provide for all of your needs. Looking unto Jesus, Heb 12:2
