Last week I had the awesome privilege to teach about 35 pastors and Christian workers in a two day conference that myself, Pastor Raul Remada and Pastor Antonio Ner put together. The conference was held at Bible Baptist Church in Calamba, Misaims Occidental. This is on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines.
During the daytime I taught a seminar on expository preaching. The pastors were eager to learn more about this way of putting together sermon outlines. Among other things, I taught how to select a subject, theme, proposition and main points for the sermon. It was very enlightening and everyone who attended said they were very blessed.
This was important because some of the pastors have not had any formal training. They are some of the most dedicated and hard-working servants that I have ever met and it was a joy to be with them.
During the evenings, we had revival services and the attendance was very good. Pastor Ner and myself preached on Tuesday night and I preached with another pastor on Wednesday night. Each night the altars were filled with pastors, their wives, and others crying out to God. It was a real blessing to be there and serve with them if only for a few short days. Please pray for these servants as they take what they have learned back to their churches and put it into practice!
