Helping A Badly Burned Boy

One of the main ways we are helping the poor children in the Philippines is through our meal centers. We go to the meal centers once a week and serve a hot meal, conduct a Bible study, sing songs and visit families in their homes.

But we also stay on the look out for other ways we can help the children who attend each week. And one of the most obvious ways to help is when we see medical needs that aren’t being addressed.

Last week in our dumpsite meal center, Sister Bellia noticed a young boy who was badly burned on his legs. Because she has a huge heart and loves these children dearly, she immediately took him to the doctor.

I don’t have the full update yet to know how he is doing or how he got the burn, but I do know that because we have a medical fund and caring staff, this little boy is receiving help that his parents couldn’t afford to give him.

I am so proud of all of our Filipino staff members. They are some of the most dedicated and consistent Christian workers you could ever ask for. We currently have 13 meal centers that they work in on Saturdays and Sundays and we are now developing a way that you can partner with us to become a sponsor of one of these weekly meal centers. I’ll have all the details about that for you very soon!

Your financial gift can help a child (or adult) just like the boy who was burned. Click here to donate today.

Chattanooga, TN

Tomorrow, (Saturday), Hunter and I will be in Chattanooga. We are going to help the Bread of Life Ministry from Parkway Baptist Church in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. We helped them get this ministry off the ground a few years ago and since then they have seen many homeless people come to know Christ as their Savior and they have provided meals and other forms of help for many hundreds more.

Tomorrow we will be visiting some homeless camps, overpasses and other places where people are living outdoors. This will be a time where I will be sharing some of the techniques and experience I have with the people involved in this ministry. Please pray that we have a very productive day and that their outreach ministry will grow as the Lord would have it to.

Good Samaritan Class

On Saturday, August 8th, I will be teaching our Good Samaritan class at Porters Grove Baptist Church in Rising Sun, MD. This class is for anyone who has an interest in helping the homeless through your church.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to talk to a homeless person with confidence
  • How to know when you’re helping and when you’re not
  • How to use the four-step Good Samaritan plan
  • How to connect a homeless person to your church

And much, much more! If you are interested in attending this class, click here for more information.

Thanks so much

We really appreciate every time you pray for our ministry and of course, we are extremely grateful for each and every donation that comes our way. I think we are building a very loyal team of very generous people who truly care for those who are homeless, outcast, lost and in great need.

Thank you!

The biggest and greatest need that can be met is when we freely give the gospel message to a lost soul. Salvation can do what medicine, food, shelter or any other tangible gift can never do…It gives us hope in a very hopeless world. Thanks for giving that hope!

God bless,
