Ministry Update 10-9-15

Thank you for praying! After more than 36 hours, we arrived here in the Philippines on Thursday afternoon all safe and sound. This time our route took us to LA, then to China and on to the Philippines. Traveling with me this time is my friend Pastor Todd Crusenberry from Bristol, VA.

When we arrived at the airport in China I really wanted a cup of coffee and Todd wanted a Coke. We sat down at a small cafe and ordered one coffee and one Coke in a can and asked the server how much that would be in US dollars. After a short conversation with the other lady behind the counter she informed us that the charge was $22! We politely excused ourselves and waited for the free water on our next flight!

I’m not sure if it really cost that much or if they made a mistake in their figuring!

This week we will be visiting with our staff and partners here and seeing first hand all the progress that has been made since we left in June. I am very excited to see everyone and get to work! We plan to visit the meal centers, the church, several families and much more.

Also, this weekend is Pastor Antonio Ner’s birthday. Pastor Antonio is our main partner here in the Philippines and without him our ministry would be extremely difficult. Happy Birthday Pastor Antonio!

Update on the Fall Fundraising Campaign

God has really blessed the first full week of our Fall Fundraising Campaign! Several people also participated in the surprise Birthday giving for my 40th birthday and that raised a total of $995, all of which was counted toward the Fall Campaign. Several other gifts also came in this week and our updated total as of today is….

Thank you to each and every one of you who have already made your first gift to the Campaign, our $40,000 goal is in reach! Remember, I will be updating you each week on the progress so please don’t forget to be praying for God’s provision.

Welcome Pastor Steve Dixon

We want to welcome our good friend Pastor Steve Dixon as our newest Board of Directors member. Steve and his wife Rebekah live in Rising Sun, MD where they serve at Porters Grove Baptist Church.

Along with his duty as pastor, Steve has a real passion for the Philippines and he has been there the last two years  to serve as a short term missionary. His experience on the mission field is sure to be a big blessing to Unsheltered International as he serves on our Board. I know that I am thankful he has a servants heart and has joined our team.

You can read his full bio here.

New book coming soon

I have been working on a new ebook for quite a while now and it is just about complete! Actually, this will be the very first book that have put together. This little book is sure to be a blessing and is being designed to help anyone who wants to help the homeless.

I will be sharing more about it with you in the coming days and I’m going to be asking for your help to get the word out about it when the time comes. Together, we can make a difference!

Thanks again

As always, we are grateful for your support and prayers. This ministry would simply not be possible without the great power we receive because of your involvement and God’s grace.
