Ministry Update 12-12-14

Well, the Lord is blessing in many ways! This week we have had some very generous donations to our Philippines trip fundraiser. I preached Sunday at Rock Spring Baptist Church In Rock Springs, GA and they gave us $500 towards the trip and pledged another $500!

We had a great service and enjoyed great fellowship as well. The youth ministry at that church has a special outing planned tomorrow to go into Chattanooga, TN and pass out jackets and other supplies to the homeless. It was a joy for us to be able to provide them with lots of items to use on their big day. I know they will make a difference.

Only 23 days left until we leave for the Philippines on January 4th!

Here is the latest update on our fund-raiser

So far we have raised $10,389.00, which leaves a remaining amount of $14,611.00.

Our goal is to raise this the the end of December. Since we have already purchased our plane tickets, the remainder of the money will go to pay for the needs of the new ministry center and initial start up costs.

Please help us reach our goal. You can give on line or mail in your gift to the PO box listed below.

Don’t forget, this month we have a special gift to offer everyone who donates $50 or more OR signs up to become a sponsor.

A couple of other cool things from this week

Last week it was our pleasure to send a large load of meal supplies to a new ministry in Bristol, VA. Our friend Joel Wray heads up Soup For The Soul, a ministry where they serve meals to the homeless each month. Please pray for their efforts in Bristol.

Also, on Tuesday we met a lady in Cullman, AL who was facing homelessness along with her 14 year old daughter. We were able to shelter them in a hotel on Tuesday night and then on Wednesday we assisted them as they moved into a new apartment. It’s always a blessing to get to be a part of something like that!

Also, our friend Pastor Steve Dixon from Porters Grove Baptist Church in MD is collecting things to give to the homeless in Elkton, MD. They did a news story on their efforts that you can see here. Please pray for them as they serve the needy in their area.
