Ready To Go! (Weekly Update)

We are all set and ready to head out to the Philippines on Monday. April and I will be meeting up with Pastor Steve Dixon and his family at JFK Airport late Monday afternoon and our long flight, with the first stop in China, leaves just after midnight.

Please pray for safe travels for all of us and that we can get everything accomplished that we need to while we are there. One of the big things I hope to do is meet with an architect and look at some property. We are trying to put together the costs for phase one of our three-phase plan for Unsheltered International Philippines. Phase one will be the building of a safe home for the children who live on the streets. Please pray for wisdom and direction!

Pastor Dixon and I will also be training our team while we are there and providing them with some awesome shirts and new shoes. Special thanks to those of you who helped purchase the shoes! Stay tuned to our Facebook page for pictures and updates while we are there next week.

Winston- Salem, NC

Last week I had the opportunity to meet with two churches about resource clinics for their communities. On Friday, myself and brother Denny Mitchell went to Winston-Salem, NC and met with Pastor Erick Goff of Lewin Baptist Church. This church is in a very diverse community that faces many challenges due to poverty, crime and other factors.

Pastor Goff has a real desire to reach the needy people around him and we have set a date for the resource clinic in July. I am real excited about all the possibilities in Winston-Salem as we partner with this church and pastor to help those in great need. The date is July 16.

Toccoa, GA

My son Hunter and I spent Sunday in Toccoa, GA with Pastor Jodi Garrison and Crosstown Church. This is a brand new church plant in Toccoa and Pastor Garrison is determined to reach out to everyone he can with the gospel. The church has only been officially meeting for a few weeks but their attendance is great and they are meeting in a Theatre right in the center of town.

We have planned a resource clinic for May 14th. This event will be held right there where the church meets every Sunday. We will use the parking lots to set everything up and, hopefully, draw a big crowd that we can minister to spiritually and physically. Please help us pray for these two events that are now on the calendar!

Mission trip opportunity for you

We already have two people signed up for the mission trip to the Philippines in September. The dates are September 8-17, 2016. We need a minimum of ten people to make this trip a reality so please pray about joining us to do some amazing ministry with some amazing people!

Golf marathon in May

Save the date! May 28th we will be having a golf marathon here in Cullman to raise money for phase one of our children’s ministry. We will need lots of golfers to make this a successful event. If you like to golf and want to help change the course of a child’s life, please consider playing or helping out. We will have more information in the next couple of weeks, but if you want to know more about it now, just call Shane Reese at 256-507-2442.

Shane and his wife Cheranda are organizing this event for us and we believe it will be a great benefit to our fundraising efforts this year. Why not make a long weekend of it and have fun while also helping out? Give Shane a call today!

On a personal note

Our Son Hunter is turning 15 this Saturday. It’s hard to believe that he is growing up so fast! To celebrate, we are having lots of his friends over at our house Saturday evening for a bon fire and pig roast. Happy birthday Hunter!

How to give

Of course, we cannot accomplish the great things we are doing here in the United States or Internationally without the generous gifts of our supporters. I want to share a few ways that you can get involved and give to change lives.
