It has been a little while since I have done a family update, so I thought I would take the time to do that today. We have been busy and blessed lately. Here are a few snippets of what’s been going on.
Sarah is at Nana and Grandpa’s and then camp
Sarah is enjoying some alone time in North Augusta this week with her nana and grandpa. It has been a while since she has been able to be there without all the rest of us so I am sure she is taking full advantage of the opportunity! She loves to shop with her nana and also visit with her cousins while in town and I know she is having a big time. She will leave next week to go to youth camp with our good friends Michael and Ginny Rochester. Please pray that she learns a lot and has a lot of fun.
Hunter and April Sell Fireworks
Since we were home this year around the fourth of July, Hunter and April went to work selling fireworks for one of our friends who own several stands.
They spent several long days in the semi-trailer that was converted to a fireworks stand many years ago. Hunter said it was a dream come true for him to be able to hang out around all them fireworks! They wanted to do this to earn some extra money to purchase things our family needs before our next trip to the Philippines. There are always family needs like clothes, medicines, shoes, toiletries, etc. Their hard work payed off and now the shopping and gathering of supplies will soon begin. Way to go Hunter and April and special thanks to everyone who bought from them!
Our flights are booked
Last week I booked our flights for our next long-term stay overseas. We will be leaving on August 22nd and returning on January 30th. We are all excited to be just weeks away from going “home” to the Philippines to rejoin our friends and ministry partners. We are looking forward to expanding the work that we started last year and seeing everyone again. We have rented a new house that is very near the church we work with. This house will have a little more room for everyone and is only one story and can have more air conditioned rooms which should be easier on April.
We were able to rent this house for the same amount as our other one (about $230) so we feel very blessed to have a nice, safe place for our family while we are there. Please pray for all of us as we begin to make final preparations for our overseas travel. God is blessing and we are grateful for that.
A few prayer requests
Please continue to pray for April’s health. Overall, she is much better than this time last year. He diagnosis is now asthma and fibromyalgia. She is on medicine and it is working.
It will be difficult to be gone during the holidays so please pray that God gives us and our families grace for that season.
Thank you
Thank you so much for reading and caring for our family. We realize that without our generous friends and ministry partners we couldn’t accomplish the calling of God upon our lives. We appreciate each of you!
