We had a wonderful weekend in Toccoa, GA with Crosstown Church putting on our second Resource Clinic of the year. This was the first time do partner with Crosstown for a resource clinic and the Lord really blessed in a big way. The best news of the weekend was that God saved three precious souls! We were extremely blessed to witness these come to know Christ as their personal Savior.
The picture above is one of my favorites from the weekend. That’s Pastor Jody Garrison on the left as he is speaking to some of the guests. I believe he personally spoke to each and every person who came throughout the day. He has a real pastor’s heart.
There were 89 volunteers and we had 142 guests throughout the day. 14 people received fresh new haircuts, 21 pairs of reading glasses were given out, 15 people received medical assistance and 4 resumes were made. Clothing was given to 50 people and 53 hygeine kits were given out. It was a great day indeed. My good friend Howard Dye provided the meal which consisted of spaghetti and all the trimmings. Steve Dixon and his group from Maryland grilled sausage to go with it and everyone ate real good.
We had over 15 leaders on our team and they did a great job working alongside the many servants from the church. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. We have three more of these community events this year, the next one will be in Cincinnati, OH with Revive Baptist Church on June 4th. Please pray about this next event as we are expecting great things from the Lord. Check out all the pictures below and on our Facebook page as well.
This week in the Philippines
This week it was good to hear from Pastor Antonio Ner, our partner in our Philippines ministry. He and his wife Merliza are hard at work doing all they can to reach the children who live on the streets and have such a hard life. They relayed some very hard news to me. One of the young girls who we have been helping now for over a year, got pregnant and then lost the baby a month later. She is under 15 years old. These heartbreaking realities are the true picture of what it’s like for runaway’s and orphaned children who grow up with very little parental involvement and influence.
We are going to be doing everything we possibly can to get phase one of our three phase plan off the ground soon. Phase one is the building of a safe home for the children who are the most vulnerable. Please pray with us for the Lord’s provision on this very important project. There are dozens of children who need our efforts now more than ever.
On a brighter note, some of the children in our ministry are doing great and really excelling. The boy on the left in the picture below with Pastor Ner, is Democrito. He is the little boy who had a bad case of TB last year. The Lord sure has blessed him and it’s good to see him growing so big and strong. He will start school for the first time later this year! The boy on the right is Pastor Ner’s son Ithran.
Golf Marathon
Our first ever Golf Marathon is just around the corner on May 28th right here in Cullman, AL. We are really excited about this fundraiser. Even though we didn’t get as many golfers as we had hoped for, I think it will still be a great day. My son Hunter has raised the most money in sponsorships so far, but he is followed closely by his grandpa, Jerry McFalls. You can see their progress and even sponsor them by clicking here.
We are hoping to raise $5000 through this fundraiser. The money that is raised will be going toward our safe home project in the Philippines and help get children off the streets and into a much safer and loving environment. Please help us out by sponsoring one of the golfers or just giving a gift to go toward the total amount raised. All the information is on this page of our website.
As always, thanks for following our ministry and thanks for your prayers and support. It wouldn’t be possible without your involvement.
