Weekly Update and Urgent Need

June 23rd was a devastating and deadly day for thousands of people in West Virginia and Virginia. At lease 23 people lost their lives in the flood that is being called a 1 in 1,000 years event.

One of the places that was hit the hardest was the town of Elkview, WV and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. This church is home to the oldest Christian school in the state and the pastor, Lee Swor, has served there for many, many years. The church buildings, vehicles, and all belongings were underwater and received damage that will total millions in losses.

The Mt. Pleasant Church family has supported my family as part of their missions program for many years now and I have preached revival there as well. They are an EXTREMELY generous congregation and now they themselves are in GREAT need.

Pictured below is my personal friend, Reggan Jett. Reagan is the Assistant Pastor at Mt. Pleasant.

Please pray for this congregation as they recover. I have heard that they are already doing what they can to reach out to the community and help others even when they have so much need themselves!

You can get updates and also give to help them recover by visiting the link below.

Thank you for helping our friends who are in need right now!

Report from the Bristol Resource Clinic

On Saturday June 18th, we held our fifth annual resource clinic in Bristol, TN. Calvary Bible Church, Beulah Land Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church sponsored this event as they have for the past five years.

It was wonderful to be a part of a great day where servants from the three churches (and a few more) came together with one goal in mind. The goal was to serve others and share the gospel in the process.  I am extremely thankful for everyone who helped make this day a huge success.

Here are the results from the Bristol Resource Clinic

161 guests in attendance
7 people received Christ as Savior
125 people served during the day (volunteers)
2 resumes were made
40 pairs of reading glasses were given out
7 emergency contact cards were made
14 birth certificates were applied for
60 people received clothing
27 people received Bibles
50 people received haircuts
25 people received medical assistance
74 people received hygiene kits

336 meals were served

I would like to say a special thank you to Joel Wray and Soup For The Soul. Brother Joel and his crew serve a monthly meal to the homeless year-round. They took care of the meal for the resource clinic and did a fantastic job. They served chicken quesadillas with all the trimmings and they were delicious!

Next up- Winston-Salem, NC

Our next, and last resource clinic for 2016 will be July 16th in Winston-Salem, NC. We will be partnering with Lewin Baptist Church and Southside Baptist Church to host the first resource clinic we have ever held in NC. We are excited to add another city and state this year. Please pray for a successful event with lots of people helped and souls saved.
