The Lord has blessed us in many ways over the past couple weeks and I'd like to fill you in on all the good news.
As you know, last week was our annual live benefit. With the commitments we received prior to last Thursday, and what came in during the event on Thursday, God blessed us with
$108, 350. We are beyond grateful for your help with that important event that starts off our year in a very positive way.
Last week was also our annual board of directors meeting. We took care of our annual business needs and did lots of great planning for this new year. This was a sad and happy week all in one because our long-time board chairman, Howard Dye, stepped down from his position. Howard served as the first chairman of our board and has done a fantastic job being a true servant-leader for our ministry. It was hard to see him step down, but he will remain a board member for many years to come.
We celebrated Howard's years of faithful service on Wednesday with a surprise party. We had a special meal, a time of testimonies, and presented him with an appreciation plaque and a special present. We will forever be indebted to Howard for his service.
Welcome Pastor Steve Dixon
While it was hard to see Howard step out of the chairman role, it was also great to have Pastor Steve Dixon step into that role.
Steve has been on our board for many years now and served most recently as treasurer. He was nominated and voted in the chairman position by his fellow board members and we are excited to have his continual leadership for our ministry team. Steve has been to the Philippines several times, served in resource clinics and street revivals, and worked in other aspects of our ministry over the years. He has a heart to see Unsheltered grow and is happy to serve in this new capacity.
I appreciate the goodness of God in all that he has done for us and where he will take us over the coming year. Thank you for your love and support.
