What’s been going on in the Philippines by Sarah Ann Sharpe

It has been an extremely productive year so far in our Philippines ministry! Things are going very well in all of our Meal Centers. We have seen so many new faces this year. The children in the Meal Centers have been so excited about hearing the lessons and eating the meals our team brings, that they have been inviting their friends to join them. It is so good to see our ministry growing because of the excitement of the children that we serve.

Last year, our Rescue Center underwent a lot of repairs to make it more comfortable for our guests. We were able to do work on the roof, and expand the area to fit more people in. Thanks to these renovations, our team has been able to minister to even more of our guests. They can come to the Rescue Center for a shower, a full meal, new clothes, and a special Bible study just for them.

Our main goal is always to spread the gospel. Our team has been doing a fantastic job at this, especially during street ministry. They not only visit those who are living on the streets, but they take the opportunity to share Christ, pray with them, give them a meal, and if needed, first-aid treatments. Our team always greet people with a smile, and most importantly take the time to let them know that they are loved, and that they are not alone.

Here are the results from the first few months of this year in our Philippines ministry. We have visited and served meals to 814 people during street ministry, and served 204 people at the Rescue Center. Throughout all of our Meal Centers, we have served a total of 6,141 meals to the children in attendance. And best of all, we have seen 88 salvations through all of our ministries in the Philippines! Praise the Lord for His goodness over these past few months!

We are so thankful for each and every person that God has put within the path of our ministry. And so thankful for our Filipino staff members that make all of this work possible.

Save the Date

Mark your calendars for Friday, July 28th and make plans to attend our annual steak dinner and charity auction at Stone Bridge Farms in Cullman, Alabama. Last year was so much fun and nearly $30,000 was raised to benefit the programs of Unsheltered. The evening will include a delicious ribeye steak dinner with all the trimmings, dinner, music, a presentation by Travis, and a live auction with a professional auctioneer.

The auction items will be special made cakes along with three surprise items. You don't want to miss it. We will begin selling tables and individual tickets mid-June or the first of July and they will go quickly. We will let you know when they go on sale so you can come enjoy a fun-filled evening with friends as you make an impact for those who are less fortunate.
